Meet the team behind absolute capital

With a passion for the property and fixed income asset classes, Gerald drives the vision and strategy of Absolute Capital. After founding Creditsmith Capital Partners in 2007, Gerald established Absolute Capital with Lombard Insurance in the credit space. With over 30 years’ experience in various local and international financial markets, Gerald contributes a wealth of expertise.

Rhys has 13 years’ experience in the business after joining Creditsmith Capital Partners in 2008. As a key part of the founding Absolute Capital team, he is involved in all aspects of strategic, compliance and operational objectives of the business.

Jason has 15 years corporate finance experience. He has managed Skein Capital since 2019 and was involved in the founding of Absolute Capital. Jason is a non-executive director involved in strategic and credit decision making processes of Absolute Capital.

Dean has held various Executive Director and Management positions dating back to 1983. He has extensive experience in granting credit. Dean is a board member of all the Skein Capital Limited equity investments.”

With just short of 20 years of experience in real estate, Russell is able to provide significant support in deal origination, financial structuring and risk analysis. He drives the property equity strategy and assists steering the sales and distribution objectives for the team. Having a passion for property development, coupled with his experience in financial structuring and asset management, he bolsters the operational and strategic goals of the business.

Thembelihle is involved in deal structuring and implementation of transactions. Prior to joining Absolute Capital, she gained over 8 years’ experience in risk and financial management within the construction, property development and civil engineering sectors.

Malcolm has a strong appreciation for the property sector and believes that property is a robust asset class. Prior to joining, Malcolm gained transactional experience in the Commercial Property Finance sector, coupled with capital raising for SMEs in South Africa. He additionally worked for an Investment Bank focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) in the U.S. Malcolm is involved with the operational objectives of the business and assists clients with the structuring, negotiating and implementation of all transactions across the firm.

Martin has gained vast finance experience over the last 20 years, while working with large multi-national companies over the last 20 years. He joined the Absolute Capital team in early 2023 and oversees the financial function.

Janine has approximately 12 years’ experience in the property sector, dealing with all accounting related aspects of the business. She has previously worked in the advertising and digital consulting industries where she gained exposure to various types of companies and the brands it as to offer. Her passion however remains within property and growing in this field is her main objective.

Stacey is a highly skilled and experienced executive assistant with more than 10 years of expertise supporting Managing Directors, a full team of staff, internal operations, and event management. She effortlessly maintains efficiency and professionalism in this fast-paced environment, adept at handling multiple high-level tasks simultaneously, who is known for her optimistic outlook.
